Jane Sasonow-White

Jane Sasonow-White finds subject material for her brightly coloured silk hangings in the natural environment. The Ontario farm where she spent her childhood helped nurture a love of flora and fauna evident in the work she

creates. Painting was always a hobby, but since moving to
Newfoundland 12 years ago, it has become a full-time endeavor.

Of Russian descent, Jane grew up speaking Russian at home and says artistic talent runs in the family. She is interested in learning more about her roots, and how they influence her work.

Jane says commisioned projects give her a chance to create works of nature that may otherwise go unnoticed. She uses silk-screening and hand-painting techniques to produce wall hangings that can be found in many private homes.
