Raymond Cox

In his 20 years as a pewtersmith, Raymond Cox has a long list of awards, exhibitions and commissions to his credit. From master pewterer Francis Felton of Connecticut he learned the techniques of hand wrought pewter, but ray has developed his own distinctive style in form and function.

Ray has broadened the genre with numerous scultural pieces including large outdoor landscape work like this whale's tale that swims outside the Health Sciences Centre in St. John's. He explores the ever-new techniques of working the metal, and continues to make one-of-a-kind and limited editions of holloware and ornamentation

jewelry. Ray is featured in For the Love of Pewter, a book
that explores the art of hand-wrought pewter in Canada.
