Suzanne Swannie

Suanne Swannie's functional textiles and intricate tapestries have earned critical praise and numerous awards from the local, national and international craft communities. Her creations include large architectural pieces and small intimate works. Suzanne's projects are born from invitations to exhibit, or from her own inspiration.

Educated in Denmark, Sweden, the United States and Canada, Suzanne is an instructor of Textile Studies at the Avalon Community College in St. John's. Her commissioned works are numerous, and het tapestries have been shown in group and solo exhibitions across North America.

A seasoned artist with over 20 years of experience, Suzanne approaches commissioned work the discipline of a production weaver and the visual sensibility of an artist. With her wide expertise in the technique and design of fibrework, she welcomes the challenge of creating for a specific environment.
