Winners announced for 1998-1999

NEW Contest began April 1999

"A New Beginning for Peace"

  • Will District 41-S2 meet the challenge in 1999-2000??
    Our District Governor hopes so.

  • PLAN NOW FOR YOUR CLUB TO DO ITS PART.
Order your Kits from Club Supplies, between April 1 and December 1, 1999. Find lots of information in your "LION" magazine, or contact the Chairman for help.
    "ENTHUSIASM, IT'S CONTAGIOUS."

TELL THE TEACHERS ABOUT "GREAT - NEW" CASH AND TRAVEL PRIZES
    and DISTRICT TROPHY.

  • GIVE TEACHERS TIME TO PLAN. The same teachers who enter their students in the Junior Speak-Off may help you bring the 12TH Annual Peace Poster Contest to 11 to 13 year old's in your area.

  • SHOW TEACHERS HOW TO FIT THE PEACE POSTER CONTEST INTO THEIR LESSON PLANS. MAKE IT EASY FOR THE SCHOOLS TO TAKE PART.
    "A New Beginning for Peace"

fits into the "Anti-Bullying Programs" that many schools are teaching and works with the study of the United Nations, civic government and peaceful resolution of disputes among people of the world. Challenge schools in your area to friendly competition with one another. Each time you buy A KIT, you pay the entry fee to send one representative to district level. Have your club Vice-Presidents guide and encourage your committee chairman and the school.

  • SPONSOR AN IMPRESSIVE PERPETUAL TROPHY FOR THE WINNING SCHOOL IN YOUR AREA.
Do you have a club member who does wood or metalworking; you can make a truly unique trophy. Your local community police service, crime prevention committee, radio station, or newspaper may want to help with costs. A super trophy you can show to the Principal, the teachers and the Student's Council will make the contest seem more real to them.

  • WIN FOR YOUR CLUB "THE STERLING PRESS PERPETUAL AWARD" FOR SPONSORING THE DISTRICT ENTRY TO MULTIPLE-DISTRICT COMPETITION.
  • The entry from Random Club placed second at Multiple District Competition in 1997 and first in 1998. A Canadian entry was an International Merit Award Winner in 1997 and in 1998. Our children have shown they CAN do this!

  • STUDENTS CAN WIN CLUB, DISTRICT, MULTIPLE-DISTRICT AND INTERNATIONAL PRIZES. District 41-S2 prize is $300 and the INTERNATIONAL GRAND PRIZE is US$2500 AND A TRIP for three to Hawaii for the international convention in the year 2000.

  • YOUR CLUB PRESIDENT COULD WIN A TRIP to International Grand Prize Ceremony: your King Lion will represent our district at the convention in Hawaii when the winning student is presented with the Grand Prize.
