45 & 45

A Torontonian arrived in St. John's. The next day he proceeded to visit one of our outports. He was on the wharf there and he was boasting about having 90 degrees in Toronto yesterday.

An old gentleman overheard his conversation about the temperature and he came close to our Toronto friend and said, "We had 90 here, too, yesterday". The Torontonian said emphatically, "YOU DID NOT! I was here, how do you make that out." And the old gentleman replied, "45 in the morning and 45 in the afternoon".
