Monroe House encompasses 6,000 square feet of gratious accomodations
Monroe House was built in the early 1900's by Walter S. Monroe who served as Newfoundland's Prime Minister from 1924 to 1928.
Built in the vernacular style of architechture, this large dwelling incorperates some unique features that enhance its natural charm. Curved wall corners and ships laid hardwood floors combine with ten foot ceilings and large rooms to create an elegant a tmosphere.
In the fall of 1991 my wife and I (Dawn and Jeff Levitz) puchased the property with the intention of opening a high quality bed and breakfast comprising an eventual seven rooms.
