Compagnia Gioiosa
...specializes in reconstructing and performing European Renaissance dance. The company of ten dancers, four musicians, and various technical personnel was first assembled by directors Andrew Draskóy and Alison Carter for the 1997 Year of the Arts. For this series of performances we focussed on dances from Giovanni Caboto's Italy 500 years ago.
Upcoming Events

  • Beginner's Workshops at the Performing Arts Camp, July, 1999. Andrew Draskóy will teach 16th century French dances.
  • Performance - At the Summer Dance Festival, 6pm, Thursday, August 19, 1999. Company members will perform four 15th century Italian court dances.
  • Workshop - At the Summer Dance Festival, 11am, Sunday, August 22, 1999. Andrew Draskóy will teach simple 16th French century folk dances.
