The summer festival takes place the first week of August each year. Included in the celebrations is a waterfront festival which includes fireworks, dory races, music, breakfast. Groups and organizations in the town organize events which include traditio nal Newfoundland foods, games of chance, teen and adult dances, garden party and afternoon tea, appreciation night for seniors, kids day activities including face painting, teddy bear picnic, swimming, concert, etc. The festival concludes with a communit y open air service at which time offerings are taken in aid of our community food bank.
