Historical Newfoundland


HAROLD HORWOOD is a novelist, editor, columnist and politician. Born at St. John's, he supported J.R. Smallwood in the campaign which brought Newfoundland into Confederation, and he represented Labrador in the Assembly from 1949-1951. He resigned as editor from the St. John's Evening Telegram in 1958 to become a writer and novelist. His bestknown books are The Foxes of Beachy Cove, Tomorrow Will Be Sunday, and White Eskimo, in addition to works on travel, history and biography. From: Historic Newfoundland
