Historic photograph
from the 1950's of the original Lester-Garland dwelling house constructed
in the 1820's
on the site of a previous 1760's brick house. The house was reduced
to rubble in
the 1960's but
has been recently rebuilt with a grand opening in 1997. It is presently
a showpiece
of Trinity's and
Newfoundland's history. A must see for all visitors.
The building in
the background is the Ryan Building, a historic building built in the early
1800's. It
was last used
commercially by Ryan brothers as a retail store and counting house beginning
in the
early 1900's.
It has been restored to that period and is another popular attraction.
