The Matthew, the replica of Giovanni Caboto's ship, anchored in Trinity harbour off the historic Lester-Garland House and the Ryan Building on August 8th, 1997.  She had just entered the harbour as part of the Cabot 500 celebration of  the discovery of Newfoundland 500 years before.
