The name Connemara comes from the title track "The Hills of Connemara". Written by Irishman Sean McCarthy, it describes the day in the life of a moonshine maker and reflects the complications of this way of life, particularily in Galway. Connemara are a traditional band and The River is a collection of well known traditional songs they have collected over the years.
